Home stretch

Today I switched gears and worked at an orphanage.  I was greeted by 10 kids and an infinite amount of head lice. Lovely . Cannot wait to get back to Los abuelos!

Today we had our first work day in Los Martincitos , a community inVilla El Salvador in Lima.
We walked into the senior center and were greeted with a standing ovation.   I was moved to tears. I had wondered if working here would make a difference and there was no doubt in my mind after receiving that reception.
There were an innumerable amount of hugs and kisses and despite the language barrier, smiles and hugs are transcendent .

Settling In and it ain't Bachelor Gulch

Well , I've arrived in Peru and my dormitory style room.
Sharing with two great gals from Lilly however it's rather rustic.

Shoe prepares for Peru
Planning on taking lots of clothes that I can leave there when I am finished with my assignment.
Shoe is very anxious about leaving and she hopes that VBS will take good care of business in her absence .
